Farm Internship Program *Filled for 2016*

Quackenbush Farm is seeking a full-time intern for the 2016 season. The position will run for 6 months between April and October. Work days will be variable, but typically 40 hours per week. Rustic housing is provided, plus free access to produce and eggs from the farm. In addition, a monthly stipend will be provided plus the potential for earning additional funds at our farmer’s markets. The farm is conveniently located just off I-5, only a short drive away from Portland and Vancouver.

This is an opportunity to get an in-depth and hands-on lesson on what it takes to run a farm. We will provide a rounded experience of different tasks, including financials. If you’re thinking about starting your own farm, or expanding your knowledge of small-scale sustainable agriculture, this is for you.

We do expect hard, undistracted work. If you don’t have a strong work ethic, and are not comfortable asking questions or self-directing, this probably isn’t for you. While we prefer someone with farming/gardening experience, it’s not a requirement.

If you’re interested, please e-mail us with a one-page letter of interest, describing yourself, your experience, and your reasons for applying.
